first blog on the book
I have been reading "the Triumph of Music" written by Tim Blanning for a little over a week now. I am currently half way through chapter 3 so I am going to give you a little update about what has been going so far. First I'm going to discuss the introduction and how it really got me attracted to the book in the first place. What was interesting about this book is that every chapter so far as talked about different aspects of music but has followed the same timeline. Starting in the earliest days of music leading up to modern times. For me this has helped me keep my focus on the book though out the entirety of the chapters, because I am always looking forward to learning about the modern times at the end of the chapter. It is a nice change from just learning about composers and musicians from classical, baroque, and romantic periods. Also unlike the the Beethoven book I am also currently reading "the Triumph of Music" is really quite easy to understand. Tim Blanning seems to be good at conveying his message in a simple enough language for just about anybody to understand. I have truly been enjoying this book and have also learned a lot from reading it.
